Christmas Eve

Hello, how are you? I hope you are enjoying the festive season so far. I have finished making all of my Christmas cards, and today I have written and stamped them all! A task and a half!  I have lots of cards to share, and today I’ve chosen a card that I’ve Called “Christmas Eve” as it features Father Christmas, and his reindeer. I decided this reindeer is Ruldolph. so I have of course given him a red nose. I used watercolours, Sprinklets, white pen, and lashings of glitter. I also used some old Christmas scrapbook paper to make an extra special envelope for the card. I am on a mission to use up my mounds of patterned paper 😁

I made a larger size of the card too.

Thank you for visiitng today, and please stay safe xx

A Wagon full of Stars

I hope all is well with you.Today I am sharing another Christmas card.  I know some crafters make them all year round which is such a good idea.I usually make them a month or so before. I used lots of paper piecing on this Christmas card, as it is a good  way for me to use up all the little scraps of patterned paper, which I  am guilty of keeping!

Thank you for visiitng, stay safe xx

Christmas in July

Hello, and thank you for visiting, I hope you are keeping safe and well. Wishing  England lots of good luck in the Euro football final this weekend.
Christmas in July seems to be very popular, I love Christmas but July emmm…  not so sure, but it’s good  to get a head start. So I’ve made a Snowman Christmas/Winter card especially for Lost Coast Christmas in July Challenge and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

I created a background with water colours, and also coloured the snowman  using the  same medium. I stamped the image twice and fussy cut the holly  and carrot nose and decoupaged them onto the snowman. I used white acrylic paint to colour  the snow drips and sprinkled it with white glitter. I finished by clear embossing his/her eyes, and I also embossed the sentiment.

Stay safe, covid cases are sadly increasing every day xx

Christmas Card and Gift in One

Hello and thank you for visiting me today, I hope you are doing ok in this very difficult time. Christmas is certainly going to be very different this year, we are now in High  Tier 2. I wish people would just follow the simple rules, or those of us who are vulnerable will never be able to leave our homes.

In the circumstances I wanted to make extra special cards this year to send to family and friends, so I have included a wooden bauble which can be detached from the card and hung up elsewhere if they desired. All the details about how I made it are on the Calico Craft Parts Blog

Please stay safe xx

Bah Humbug

This is most definitely not my own sentiment! I have made this for some one who is a real Bah Humbug person. I used a Christmas Carol stamp set, and stamped out the houses and Mr Scrooge, and coloured them all before fussy cutting and adhering them to my prepared canvas. I found an old fashioned lamp stamp too, and just in case things were not gloomy enough I added in Eeyore!

I generously used texture paste smothered with fine glitter for snow, and added a small twig as a tree. After stamping and colouring some holly leaves at the top of the canvas, I flicked white acrylic paint over the scene as falling snow. Of course I did not forget to add the large Bah Humbug sign to the tree!

Thank you for visiting xx

Star Of Wonder

I have made this canvas for a friend, who lives opposite the golf club, so he often has foxes visiitng him. One winter he took many photos of a fox happily playing in the snow outside his house. So I tried to recreate that scene for this canvas.

I used a wood fox from Calico Craft Parts, and painted him with acrylics, and added a fluffy tail from some needle felting wool. A brick stencil was useful to suggest his house, and texture paste covered with glitter worked as snow. I also added a some twigs and trees, and my finishing touch was to add battery operated lights.

Thank you for visiting me today, how is  your Christmas crafting going. xx

Deer Globe

Hello how are your Christmas makes going - not long until the big day now.I have been playing with Luscious powders, Indigoblu Winterland Wood Stamp Set and a round spice jar !

I used a glue called “special glue”  it is very thin, and is used for Glass & Plastic Baubles

I poured a small amount into the  spice jar, and rolled it around the back and sides of the jar.

I selected my Luscious colours and placed a small amount on a thin strip of card and shook it into the jar.

I used  the smallest deer from the Winterland Wood Set and stamped him onto card and fussy cut him.

I then spooned some fine texture paste into the cork lid and stood the deer, and some dried flowers into it, and followed with a sprinkling of Unicorn Sparkles.

I addied a finishing touch by plaiting some Raffia and then tied it around the cork lid. Then with great care I pushed the deer into the jar and pushed the cork lid shut.

Thank you for visiting me today, please take a look at the Indigoblu blog to see what other creations the talented team have come up with.

Under The Mistletoe

The spritely young hare had heard that there was some mistletoe growing on the edge of the forest just by the three pines. So he jumped into the lake and washed himself all over including behind his long ears. He used a teasel to brush and fluff his fur, and then ran to the three pines and stood waiting hopefully under the mistletoe.....

All of the stamps I used to create this magical scene are by Lavinia Stamps.

Stay Strong Against the Storms Delicate One

Well the weather has certainly turned wintery, and Christmas is fast approaching! How are all of your festive plans going?

Christmas is not always the happiest of times, and with this in mind I made this bauble. It’s base is made of thin wood, and it was an inexpensive find in The Range store.I painted it with  a light blue acrylic paint, and then stamped my beautiful snowdrop with Archival black ink.The Stamp is an old wooden one, I am guessing it is about 15 years old. I have several boxes of those old wooden stamps, I really must use them more often.I coloured the snowdrops with acrylic  paint and an overcoat of glitter! I added the stay strong Stamp from the  Dina Wakley Media - Cling  Handwritten Quotes set and heat embossed it in white. I added a flittering of white paint for falling snow.

For the top of the bauble I used Indigoblu flitterglu and mega flakes.

The delicate snowdrop is standing strong against the snowy storms and holding its beautiful head high.

Thank you for visiting,
I hope you keep warm, safe, and well this winter xx

Getting the tree tag

Just a simple tag today, which I have made for my little December Daily Album.I left a white Snowy space at the bottom of the tag to add a date stamp on the day we select and bring our tree home.I used  Watercolours to create the background and also to colour the Clarity Stamp car. I watered down some white acrylic paint for my snow.

Snowman Scenic Square

I have been busy creating a half dozen of these adorable scenic boxes. Before assembling the mdf pieces
I painted them and then added a coat of crackle.Sitting happily inside this one you can find a snowman or snowlady, a snowflake, both painted and decorated. Some dried elements, flowers pine cone etc, and some sumptuous  pink berries.
I also used mini polystyrene balls, and oh my goodness they went absolutely everywhere! I think I will still be finding them at Easter!

A Winters Meadow

Hello , I am in full Christmas making mode! I decided to make keepsake plaques for my family this year, and this one is for my sister. She takes several holidays in the Lake District each year. When I saw this charming Hobby Art stamp at the Alexandra Palace in September I thought it would make a perfect Christmas card for her.

I watercoloured the image and flicked my brush with white paint to create the snow.I love to use elements from nature so I chose a gorgeous piece of birch bark to mount it on and then added a pine cone, curly moss and a gorgeous pink berry.

How are your Christmas /Winter crafts going?

Thank you so much for visiting me today.

Snowy Feathers

I was thrilled when I had the winning bid on eBay for this darling Indigoblu Robin. I knew my parents would love him so I created this plaque especially for them. For once I was actually pleased on how it turned out, so I decided to use the same idea to make a card. You can read the details about  how I made the card on the Indigoblu blog.

I hope all you Christmas craft creations are going well, thank you so much  for visiting.

Earlier this year I made my sister a Lake District 3D card for her birthday. She loved it and asked me if

Alice In Winterland

In the winter, Wonderland becomes Winterland, and Alice loves to walk in the snowy forest.

I painted the top of my 20cm (8inch) canvas with Iced Gem paint, and randomly painted on Snow White metallic paint on the bottom. I used the star stencil and Slap it On to add some raised stars to the top of the canvas and also painted those pink.

I used Archival Olive Ink pad to stamp the trees from the Winterland wood stamp set. I stamped the two distance trees without reinking the stamp, so it gave a more faded and distant look. I used white paint to add snow to the trees which was followed by flitterglu and white glitter.

I stamped and coloured Alice from the Indigoblu Alice stamp set, and stamped the bunnies in black Archival from the Winterland set. I fussy cut them all out and adhered them to the canvas.

I spread glass bead gel medium to the bottom of the canvas to give some glistening texture to the snow. When it was dry, I lightly added white paint to some areas.

I Die cut some snowflakes and stars in various sizes and covered them in Flitterglu and white glitter. I adhered them to the top of the canvas using sticky foam pads.

Thank you so much for visiting, I hope to see you again soon.
