Flutterbye

This week I have been busy making 50 identical invitations. I have done about 14 so far, and well they are not all quite identical!

I took a break from them, to join in the Unity Challenge on Facebook which is to use the colours Teal and Grey. These are not my most favourite colours so this was a real challenge.

I cut the butterflies out of some very pretty tissue paper.

Thank you for visiting.

Don't forget there is plenty of time to enter The Mixed Media Mojo Challenge which this month is Recycle with a twist of using Metal.

Guest Designer Craft Stamper spring Flowers

Today I was fortunate to be a guest designer at Craft Stamper Magazine. Thank you so much.

I created this spring meadow of flowers for their Spring Flowers theme. I stamped the grasses first, then stamped and water coloured the flowers before cutting them out. I curled up some of the petals to give them more of a realistic look. Then I attached them with a 3D pad.

Thank you for visiting today.

Alice in Wonderland

I made this especially for this months challenge at Artistic Stamper which is All Things Distress. This lovely Alice in Wonderland stamp is made by Artistic Stamper, but it is several years old so I am not sure if they still make it.

I water coloured the images, and placed them on an Indigo Blu vintage paper with a pocket watch on it. I ran an emery board around the edges to give it a more distressed look. I think the poor creature being put into the pot is very distressed indeed !

Must dash I'm late for a very important date ! : )

George picking flowers

Created by Jannet Blay http://gillslap.blogspot.co.uk/
It was a lovely sunny spring morning, so George picked up his basket, and skipped into the garden. He wanted to pick his Mum some flowers, because of course he had the best Mum in all the world. After he had picked a few George felt sleepy and gently snuggled down on the soft grass for a nap.....

I started making George's garden with a biscuit box and I covered the sides in lovely Indigo Blu papers. Green felt made the grass , I just scratched it up a bit to make it more fluffy.

Well no garden is complete without flowers, so I die cut a few. I then used water colours to add some colour to them and added a pearl dot in the middle.

I made the stems and leaves with some green wire.

Now George needed a basket to carry the flowers in, so I plaited some paper together to make a basket.

I put some lovely yellow ribbon with tiny pom poms on around the top of the sides.

George was getting impatient so I quickly coloured him with some watercolours and placed him on top of the grass. I then added lots of the flowers around him, so he was very happy and content.

This is going to be a gift box so I covered the bottom with some more Indigo Blu papers and cut a little door into the bottom. I think some chocolates or a gift card etc would fit inside ok.

I used an array of different medias to create this, I hope you like it.

Thank you for visiting George today, he loved seeing you.

All Things Alice ATC blog swap

These are my three Alice in Wonderland ATC's for the All Things Alice blog swap, being run by Marion.

I hope all the Alice fans will like them !

I printed out a page of text from the story which I found here and lightly coloured it over with several different colours of inks. This became my background for the ATC.

I decided to use the new Alice stamps by Carabelle Studios, which I love! Water colouring is my favourite way to add colour to stamped images. I much prefer it to pens or pencils.

I added some white pearl spots to the toadstool, and stamped some more images onto the background.

Thank you for visiting please let me know what you think.....

Tammy

Today it is 16 years since Tammy died, I still miss her everyday. She helped me to cope with all of my health and disability problems. Life is much harder without her by my side.

Think Happy Tin

I recycled an empty hinged tin of mints to make this fun little scene.

I started by lining the tin with card, I used some off cuts from some bleeding art tissue backgrounds which I had made a while ago. There are so many pretty papers available that the possibilities for creating the background are endless.

I chose this set of little silhouette stamps for my scene.

I stamped them all in black archival ink and carefully cut them out, but leaving a little tab on the bottom of them to glue to the grass later.

I cut a strip of card slightly longer than the width of the tin and fringed it to look like grass. I folded each side edge of the card and glued it to the inside side of the tin. I used two strips of grass, and then added the silhouettes onto the grass strip.

I die cut a tree branch and flowers, and glued the branch into the top of the tin and adhered some flowers. I stamped a sentiment on the lining inside of the lid.

I decided to use decopatch papers to cover the tin. Apparently you are meant to use expensive decopatch glue, but I have found that Pva glue works fine for me.

There are so many different scenes you could create inside of a little tin, why not give it a try!

Thank you so much for visiting today.
